Opens New Model Apartment Homes

BARRINGTON, IL - The Garlands of Barrington continues to take shape as the first model apartment homes open to the public. Nestled in a gently rolling landscape accented with trees, stone walls and walking paths, The Garlands is a continuing care retirement community offering an active and gracious lifestyle to those who wish to remain close to friends and family in Chicago’s northwest suburban area.

Future residents were treated to a preview of two new, fully furnished apartment homes at a special opening event Oct. 30. Designed by the award-winning architectural firm of Torti Gallas and Partners CHK, Inc. of Silver Spring, Maryland, the building in which the apartments are housed reflects the community’s French/Tudor style in brick and buff-colored stone finished with a slate roof, copper gutters and graceful chimneys. Through the apartments’ lovely, nine-foot windows, one can view a portion of the lush landscape designed by Chicago landscape architect Joe Karr to provide residents with an ever-changing panorama throughout the seasons.

According to Sales Director Mary Rhodes, the spacious model apartments give visitors a feel for what they will experience when living at The Garlands, including the quality of construction and materials throughout the community. From granite and Corian® solid-surface countertops to furniture-quality cabinetry and top-of-the-line appliances, the list of standards is impressive.

The Garlands will also provide residents with freedom from maintenance and housekeeping chores with an unsurpassed package of services. In addition to viewing the new apartments on Oct. 30, future residents also previewed the community’s public spaces, which will include four dining venues, a surround sound theater, performing arts stage, multipurpose room, shopping promenade, business center, and complete fitness center. "They represent the outstanding amenities and comfortable lifestyle future residents will enjoy."

Located at 1000 Garlands Lane off of Northwest Highway in Barrington, The Garlands Information Center is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays or evenings by appointment.
